Comments on the guestbook

For the second half of 2022, we will be accepting one to two guestbook reviews per month that match the tone and style of Aniko Press. Check out our current book reviews for inspo.

We mainly focus on literary and contemporary fiction, short story collections, poetry, interesting/experimental non-fiction and exciting graphic novels. We include Australian and international authors. We’ll prioritize recent releases, but we’ll also consider new releases of “forgotten” classics or contemporary books you’ve loved that haven’t had enough time in the spotlight.

Book reviews should be between 600 and 900 words and contain a mix of literary criticism and personal opinion.

Each published review is paid $50.00 (AUD).

Unfortunately, we do not accept pitches. Please submit completed reviews as a Word document with a biography and links to any published work to [email protected] with the subject “Guestbook Review Submission”.

Aniko Magazine

We open submissions to Aniko magazine every two years. Our next submission window will be August 2022.

We accept poetry (up to 50 lines), fiction and creative non-fiction (up to 1,500 words) that respond to the theme of the issue. We also accept more experimental pieces.

Two individual submissions are allowed per author. Concurrent submissions are acceptable, but please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Submissions are accepted by email to [email protected], along with a short biography and a few lines about what inspired your article.

Writers receive $125.00 (AUD) per article published.
