When you go to Walt Disney World Resort, you usually expect to come home with some fantastic memories that will last a lifetime. With so many attractions to browse and different foods to eat, there are so many magical ways to spend your day! That being said, we tend to forget that Disney World, although based in a fantasy world, is really in our reality and things can go wrong.

As we noted, Disney World has many attractions in all of its theme parks. With so many rides using a ton of technology, it’s not uncommon for an attraction to break down. In fact, we tend to see this happen quite often, as the rides temporarily close all the time.

When an attraction temporarily closes, the queue for that ride will be closed and it will be displayed as such on your My Disney Experience app. There will also be Cast Members at the entrance to the attraction to inform guests of the same. There are also times when an attraction may break down while guests are on board, and Disney isn’t able to get them back to the loading dock. When this happens, the guests must evacuate the attraction.

Recently, the Disney Couple from Disney Instagrammer (@disneycouple) was at EPCOT on The Seas with Nemo & Friends when the attraction went down. Inside the Magic spoke with the Disney couple, who explained what happened in more detail:

There were 3 of us on the ride, and it suddenly stopped. We saw them reset / restart the ride a few times but the problem persisted. We were escorted around this side exit to the aquarium. There were technicians on the floor with an open panel where the exit conveyor belt is, I guess there is a malfunction there.

Fortunately, this attraction is easy to evacuate because it is low to the ground and not on the water like Pirates of the Caribbean or Splash Mountain. The attraction ended up closing for a little while, but then reopened the same day for guests after the malfunction was corrected.

Disney World describes the attraction as:

A fin-tastic adventure
Climb aboard a ‘clamobile’ and descend slowly beneath the waves, where Nemo’s friends flit through brightly colored coral reefs and gently swaying anemones. Avoid stinging jellyfish, underwater mines, a toothy monkfish and an even more toothed Bruce the shark.

Take a ride on the East Australian Fair Current with Crush the Sea Turtle and her little guy, Squirt. But where is Nemo?

Keep swimming until you find it!

Explore the Aquarium
Once your underwater adventure is over, experience an ocean of fun in The Seas with Nemo & Friends lodge. Get up close to clownfish, sharks and more in the massive 5.7 million gallon saltwater aquarium they call home.

Fun activities with fins teach your guppies about marine biology, sharks and more.
