SCORPIO (23 Oct-21 Nov): To encourage young people to come to its shows, the English National Opera has offered a number of inexpensive tickets. Here’s another incentive: the actors sing in English, not Italian, French or German. Perhaps the most appealing to audiences is that they are encouraged to boo bad guys. The intention is to make participants feel relaxed and free to express themselves. I’m happy to give Scorpios permission to boo bad guys in your life over the next few weeks. In fact, I would love if you are very articulate and energetic in expressing all of your true feelings. In my opinion, now is the time for you to show the world exactly who you are.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21): “If we are not careful, we are likely to place ultimate value on something that we have just invented in our head,” said Zen priest Kosho Uchiyama. In my opinion, this is an issue that we should all always be aware of. As I examine my own past, I am embarrassed and amused to remember the countless times I have made this misstep. For example, for a period of eight months, I inexplicably devoted myself to wooing a woman who had no interest in a romantic relationship with me. I bring this to your attention, Sagittarius, because I fear that right now you are more likely than usual to make this mistake. But since I warned you, you might avoid it. I hope!
CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19): Capricorn author Asha Sanaker writes: âThere is a common joke about us Capricorns that we age backwards. Being born as busy and cranky old people, we get lighter and happier as we get older because that we have gained so much practice in exercising responsibilities. And in this way, we learn, over time, what our burdens to carry and which ones not. We develop clear boundaries around how to honor our obligations with grace. âSanaker’s thoughts will serve as an excellent meditation for you in the weeks to come. You are in a phase where you can make spectacular progress by embodying the skills that it articulates.
AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18): As author Denise Linn reminded us, “the way you treat yourself sends a very clear message to others about how they should treat you.” With these tips as inspiration, I will ask you to deepen your dedication to self-care in the weeks to come. I will encourage you to shower with more tenderness and generosity than you have ever done in your life. I will also urge you to make these efforts visible to everyone in your life. I hope you will achieve a permanent improvement in your love for yourself, which should lead to a similar improvement in the kindness you receive from others.
PISCES (February 19-March 20): You have a tremendously powerful creative tool: your imagination. If there is a specific experience or object that you want to bring into your world, the first thing you do is visualize it. The practical actions you take to live the life you want to live always refer to the scenes in your mind. And so, every goal you reach, every quest you complete, every release you achieve, begins as an inner vision. Your imagination is the engine of your destiny. It is the catalyst with which you design your future. Pisces, I bring these ideas to your attention because November is the month of your imagination.
ARIES (March 21-April 19): Do you still hope to heal from psychological wounds you seldom talk about? Can I suggest you consider talking about this in the coming weeks? Not to everyone and everyone, of course, but rather to allies who might be able to help you generate at least a partial cure. The time has come, in my opinion. Now is the time for you to become actively involved in finding cures, solutions, and comfort. Life will be more sensitive than usual to such efforts.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20): âThe delights of self-discovery are always available,â writes author Gail Sheehy. I will add that these delicacies will be more accessible to you in the coming weeks. In my opinion, you are in a phase of super-learning about yourself. You will attract help and support if you passionately explore the mysteries and puzzles that have eluded your understanding. Have fun surprising and entertaining yourself, Taurus. Make it your goal to gain new insight into your hidden depths every day.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Gemini novelist and philosopher Muriel Barbery says, âI find it a fascinating phenomenon: the ability we have to manipulate ourselves so that the foundation of our beliefs is never shaken. In the coming weeks, I hope you overcome any tendency you may have to manipulate yourself in this way. In my opinion, it is crucial for your mental and spiritual health that you at least challenge your belief system âand maybe even risk undermining its foundations. Don’t worry: even if this ushers in a period of uncertainty, you will be much stronger in the long run. Stronger and more complete beliefs will be available for you to embrace.
CANCER (June 21-July 22): In her book * Mathilda *, novelist Mary Shelley (1797-1851) asks the main character: âWhat did I have to love? And the answer? “Oh, many things: there was moonlight and shining stars; breezes and refreshing rains; there was all the earth and the sky covering it.” I’m bringing this to your attention in hopes of inspiring you to make your own count of all the wonders you love. I hope your inventory will be at least ten times as long as Mathilda’s. Now is the time for you to gather together all the healing that can come from waves of gratitude, even adoration, for the people, animals, experiences, situations, and places that spark your interest, affection, and devotion.
LEO (July 23-August 22): Our memories are always changing. Each time we bring up a specific memory, it is different from the last time we visited that same memory âcolored by all the new memories we have accumulated in the meantime. Over time, an event we remember when we were nine has changed shape in our memory so much that it perhaps bears little resemblance to the first time we remembered it. Is this something to mourn or to celebrate? Maybe a bit of both. Right now, however, it must be celebrated. You have an additional power to declare your independence from any memory that does not do you good. Why keep them if you can’t even be sure they’re correct?
VIRGIN (23 August-22 September): In 1962, astronaut John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth in a spacecraft. Its flight marked the first time that NASA, the agency in charge of space flights, had used electronic computers. Glenn, who was also an engineer, wanted the best person to verify the calculations, and that was the Virgin mathematician Katherine Johnson. In fact, Glenn said he wouldn’t be flying without her involvement. I bring this to your attention, Virgo, because I believe the coming months will be a good time for you to garner the kind of respect and recognition that Katherine Johnson has received from John Glenn. Make sure everyone who needs to know is familiar with your skills and competencies.
BALANCE (September 23-October 22): According to an Apache proverb, “Better to have less thunder in your mouth and more lightning in your hand.” If you act on this advice in the weeks to come, you will succeed in doing what needs to be done. In my opinion, there is only one potential downfall that you might be susceptible to, and that is talking too much and overthinking the issue you want to accomplish before you take action to accomplish it. All the power you need will spring up when you resolutely wield the lightning in your hands.
