The author of Ayer’s Cliff organizes a launch party for the first novel

Jane Baird Warren hosted a party at Auberge Ayer’s Cliff on Thursday October 20 to celebrate the launch of her first novel, How to be a goldfish. The mid-level novel published by Scholastic is out on October 4.
Launch party guests mingled, ate and drank for the first hour. Baird Warren then addressed the attendees, thanking them for coming, and thanked his publisher, cover artist, family, and everyone who made the novel possible. The guests then had the opportunity to buy the novel and have it autographed by the author.
She presented local library and English primary school officials with copies of the novel in addition to small packages of selected books. She added that when the novel is available in French, she will also donate a copy to the local French primary school. She also donated 25 copies to the Eastern Townships School Board, one copy for each school. This was essential because, as a former teacher, she understands that teachers have to take money out of their own pockets to buy teaching materials. “Even back then, we had to do a lot of our own shopping for things. I mean, teacher budgets just aren’t what they used to be,” she says.
